XFCE icons & Power Manager Plugin

using Slackware64 14.2 and recently picked up a UPS from CyberPower and for the most part it worked right out of the box in terms of being visible/usable under Slackware. only issue I'm having is under XFCE when I've added the Power Manager Plugin to the top panel and while hovering my mouse over it reveals proper info, the icon itself is just a blank. any ideas why this is the case? I've tried switching icon sets in the settings for XFCE, but that didn't make any difference.

It's static in 14.2 (part of the design/build) that's why.

Like you I tried changing the Icon's under appearance and it made no difference.

Instead go to Applications> Settings> Power Manager> General> and at the bottom of that window make sure that show notifications and show system tray icon is checked.

looks like the link you posted is what I'm experiencing... I don't have "show system tray icon" checked since that icon doesn't really show much information. this Power Manager has a second icon, as mentioned in the link, that only shows info when you hover. I was hoping both icons would be combined somehow instead of showing just a blank icon... is this how it is on your end as well?

No, not at all.
I don't even have the Icon in my panel and the only way that it shows is if I check the box marked "show system tray icon":-

The only other thing I can think of is to find the configuration file for the power manager and see if you could add a string or argument so that the Icon is permanently placed in the panel.
