XFCE Power Manager

I have some questions about xfce-power-manager:
1 - What are the options torn off and suspend for Monitor?
2 - Why my lcd backlight is always on?
3 - How can I control the brightness of my lcd?

The xfce power manager interface is quite simple. If you dont see the options you are looking for in the tabs, they are not there.
IIRC Slackware doesnt include the latest version of the application, so you might wanna check it yourself. Maybe there are such options in it.
