What is the best grphical cd/dvd burning program for Slack10

I am a new user to linux and I am running slackware 10 what I want to know is what is the best program for cd or dvd copying and burning. On windows i would use nero for cd burning and copying and dvdxcopy for dvd coping what I want to know is what programs should I use to do this and how would I install them. I have tried installing k3b and xcdroast but I could not find very good documentation on how to install them for my system and so far I have had no luck in getting any of them to run. Any help would be greatly appreciated because once I have this figured out I can totally make the jump from windows to linux.

installpkg k3b.xx.tgz

then run k3b in a terminal window, after that do setup from menu and enter root passord, then change burning group to disk.

make sure your user are in disk group in /etc/group and your cd burner in /dev too.

Also, try the official slackware mirrors to get the package. I've had trouble with Slackware packages from other sources, specifically with k3b.

I think that's one.

OK well I can run it as a user but when I try to burn a cd I get an error. In the debuggin out put i get
starting write error: Cannot retrieve drive capabilities mode page at speed 0...
Process can be aborted with QUIT signal
ERROR: Cannot retrieve write parameters mode page
ERROR: Cannot setup write parameters for session-at-once mode.
ERROR: Please try to use the 'generic-mmc-raw' driver.
ERROR: Writing failed

Im assuming i ahve to install a different driver how do I do that and if thats not the problem does anyone have any idea what is?

wouldn't it be the cdrom group? Disk group is harddrives I believe...

some good groups to be in audio, video, floppy, cdrom

It may not be graphical, but it works. I never needed to use anything else...true to it's slogan: "it just works".
