VMware Workstation Pro black screen on all guests with 3d acceleration enabled

I decided to give VMware Workstation Pro 17.0 a try yesterday. I tried it a few years ago but eventually switched back to Virtualbox. Anyway I got it installed on 15.0 any everything is working fine, except if I enable 3d acceleration on any guest VM regardless whether is it Windows or Linux all I get is a black screen. The VM still works and I can ssh into linux machines and windows machines give boot up sounds so I know they are working. I don't really need 3d acceleration so this not that big of an issue, but it is annoying and any tips would be appreciated. Here are my specs...

Slackware64 15.0 fully updated
Asus X570 Tuf Pro
Ryzen 5900X
NVidia 3060ti (Binary Drivers 525.60.11)
32gb Crucial DDR4

Ok so a little more digging. I reinstalled vmware tools and now I can boot Slackware and Slackware64 with 3d acceleration enabled. The lilo splash screen is red, which is odd, then the system boots black until the framebuffer driver takes over and then when in startx it works. So now it is just Windows 7 and Windows XP that won't work with 3d acceleration, but I am not inclined to care since I don't need it anyway. But I will take any ideas if someone has any.
