It's a Debian package, but contains nothing more than a few scripts and udev ".rules" files, and will play nice with Slackware. I have it working on 10.2 at the moment. It doesn't even require HAL or DBUS.
Looks like the Changelog isn't getting updated like it did, once or maybe twice a day, the latest updates were
Code:
Wed Aug 16 19:11:39 CDT 2006
then
Code:
Fri Aug 18 00:20:46 CDT 2006
Is this 'good' or 'bad' ?
It isn't a release candidate unless only bugs are being fixed, not adding more (*cough* dependencies *cough*) or upgrading packages. Besides, I am sure most of the text files say "Welcome to Slackware 10.2 with glibc 2.3.5 and kernel 2.4.31".
I look forward to the KDE packages that you may make for slack 11 w/the UDEV and HAL support. It appears that those items are starting to be 'targeted' as a either present/or future requirement for many things, such as batteries for laptop mode (klaptop), and madwifi drivers (for controlling power transmission, range extender, etc.)
I just noticed that gimp-print has been renamed to gutenprint. Current still has gimp-print 4.2.7. I hope Pat includes gutenprint (improved and renamed gimp-print package) version 5 that came out a few weeks back.

Just to clarify; I haven't got the web space to make a kdebase package publicly available. I'll make some HAL & DBUS packages which will work with Slackware 11 and post up a webpage about how to get them working with KDE. Also, the later versions of HAL require PAM, so it'll have to be an older version from a few months back.

Are there any thoughts as to what the current changelog indicates that is needed left for Slackware 11 to come out. The only thing that I can think of is the program that actually setups the packages and instals Linux, or is that created somewhere that I am not thinking of.

that's in the ramdisk image on the cd... IIRC, it's been patched a few times already... it's /isolinux/initrd.img and it shows it was last modified on Aug 20: ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackwar...rrent/isolinux
