Wondering if anyone keeps Slackbuilds of recent kernels for testing? Using AMD 3550H hardware and cant seem get current running in gui. Aliens liveslak checks each driver and kms but all fail. Booting to normal current iso causes a kms mode error in starting gui. Due to release date of hardware I am thinking I need to run kernel v5.x. I have an APU and an external Vega gpu. Grabbed the k tree from source but am not finding an easy way to get all the config's in place for an automated slackbuild to .t?z.
How can one approach with paying respect to the different kernels that get built? If I build a new kernel and boot to it then go to slackbuild scripts I feel as through the running config will get copied over to all built kernels: SMP + Huge + Generic?

I few things off the top of my head try as a kernel parameter before boot
The flaw was solved by setting GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash video=SVIDEO-1:d nomodeset" in /etc/default/grub and then updating grub. There is plenty documentation in the web about this flawness.
Pixxt, Thank you for your suggestions however I see the standard scrolling error when X tries to auto start on Slackware live current - Aliens - LiveSlak USB. I keep about 14 or so kernel boot parameters for various operating systems on this particular hardware. Adding yours as 15 and 16 as I did see DRM entries scrolling by on init with amdgpu.dc=1 as well as amdgpu.dc=0. Nomodeset anything seems to kick one out of DRM possibilities and I think the amdgpu driver needs DRM on this laptop.
I run Artix linux (Arch without systemd) as its rolling nature seems to cover the hardware well. I may try to take a config from kernel 5.14 that Artix is running and apply it to a Slackbuild within current tree, tomorrow. May not try to go for all three kernels as I cant seem to figure out how to build all three (automated) via the "build all kernels" script. Newer kernels come with the touchpad driver as well as a nice bt coexist for the RTL8821 wifi chip even through its aimed at 8822. R8869 ethernet seems to work better on newer kernels too.
Here is an odd question. I tried Gentoo recently and thought that Portage was a less than desirable thing. Is there any way to bootstrap Slackware from a source medium like the way that Gentoo installs? Trying to search this is horrible since the "slack" chat app mimic'd Slackware's nickname.

Not entirely sure what you mean. Also I'm not sure what and how Gentoo bootstraps from a source medium. I do, however, recall seeing this before. However, what I usually do is just boot whatever install media and then chroot into the Slackware installer; and go from there. There is a few steps required to do that, however, and if you think that might let you accomplish what your trying to accomplish I wouldn't mind taking the time outlining in a bit more detail how I do that.
