PS Don't blame me if that doesn't trigger a new flame war. At least I've done my best

If that thing didn't read, look, and act like a young brother to microsoft, nothing ever will. Reboots all over the place - microsoft (if you sneeze or fart wrong, one needs to 'reboot'). The rest looked just like that huge abortion in M$ called the Registry. It also looked like it was all for taking away my abilities to alter *anything* I wish on *my* system.

a lot of developers will do what their companies tell them to do.
and if it has businesses value to have hard dependencies to what ever, we will have to live with them.

If only LP had been at the wheel the professional project could have succeeded...

No, Titanic would have been built, then added on to repeatedly until it covered the ocean.

That's the reason I am keeping my current in sync. And a bunch of HAM packages too. One never knows

Cheers

We need a new folder on this site for Lennux Distributions.
The Linux distributions folder will be small - but the best!

The use of binary files and also database files for insignificant quantities of data is one of the many things that annoys me about current developments. We already see it with Mozilla browsers. I now use an add-on which creates "Favorite" bookmarks - one of the few things which microsoft got right imho.

But since Mozilla, and a few other browsers, allow bookmarks to be moved around the menu, most-used bookmarks can be moved to the top of list, making a favourites feature unnecessary. So I do not know how great an idea it actualy is.
