Swaret and linuxpackages.net

How do I add linuxpackages.net to the swaret.conf so that I can use swaret to look for packages of off it? I tried uncommenting one url in the conf but it fails when I try to do an update. Any ideas? Thanks.

Nope. Swaret Lives On.

onelung02, could you post up the first portion of swaret.conf so we can see what may be happening? You should also run "swaret --update -a" after making any changes.

add this under the REPOS_ROOT on the /etc/swaret.conf

REPOS_ROOT=LinuxPackagesDOTNET%http://www2.linuxpackages.net/Slackware-$VERSION

A lot of their stuff is either outdated or badly built packages. I usually check the packages home page to see if they have an updated version then I compile my own package with the features I want enabled.

I somewhat agree with Boow, but LP still has very good packages. I mean its trustworhy for simple day to day packages, but i'd stick to Pat's official packages when it comes to gcc, kde, and other heavy ones.

But getting back to this thread, i wouldn't trust swaret , or any other auto updater with LP. Use the auto updaters like swaret or slapt-get for the official packages, and just manually browse and select the rest from LP yourself.
