Slackware 8.1 trouble with PHP 4.3.2 patch

I upgraded a Slackware 8.1 server with all official patches from slackware ftp site (from pub/slackware/slackware-8.1/patches/packages), but after the upgrade of:

apache-1.3.27-i386-2.tgz
mysql-3.23.54a-i386-1.tgz
php-4.3.2-i386-1.tgz

all PHP apps that use MySQL in this machine (and were running fine so far) bombs out with:

[error] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_pconnect() in XXXXXX

Seems like the MySQL support wasnt compiled in PHP, but looking at the output of phpinfo(), the --with-mysql=shared,/usr is there. However, the "MySQL" section that phpinfo() usually shows way down its output is not there!

Can someone help me with this? Did I forgot something?

Regards, Norman
