Setting Up LAMP: Getting Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP Working Together

I just saw this 35.00 book on getting LAMP working.
Seemd to me a bit funny considering all I had to do was install Slackware 10,
uncomment 1 line in the /etc/apache/httpd.conf for PHP and chmod 755 /etc/rc.d/rc.mysqld.
I might have already done something else to apache like inabling cgi in the httpd.conf file.
Everything seems to be working fine...
All this from a Linux distro said to be Not full featured.
Slackware rules, Fluxbox rocks!

Setting Up LAMP: Getting Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP Working Together
Paperback
Author: Eric Rosebrock, Eric Filson, Eric Rosebrock
Publisher: Sybex Inc
Release Date: 22 July, 2004
ISBN: 0782143377

Now don't get me wrong, this may be a great book and I am not trying to bash it.
I was just suprised how easy it was to get everything working on my slack box.
I could have compiled all the apps from source like the tutorial at webmonky suggested.
I was looking for a book on programming when I found the LAMP book.

If it has an overview/tutorial for how to program MySQL/Database apps in PHP, then it might be worth 35 bucks. Canadian. No way would I pay that kind of scratch, but then again, I know what I'm doing.

35? way too much if you ask me... I meen i'm all in favor in donations and helping out (both moneywise and sharing knowledge) , but 35 on a book that will teach me how to

installpkg AMP
chmod +x
rc.d/AMP start

is too extreme

Here's a free one
