ehm, SDL2* scripts will be removed from the repository for current but nothing will be edited regarding the removed scripts from the REQUIRES lines: the repo is made of branches rebased at each update of the 14.2 repository and it will be too much painful to maintain such changes.
the REQUIRES lines will be edited only when on SBo we will move on to the next version.

Oh yeah, I forgot that you rebase every update. It makes sense you wouldn't edit the REQUIRES line.

The new wxGTK3 has thrown my efforts to submit an SBo version of BOINC into disarray. As of right now, BOINC will still need 3.0.2 until I figure out which of the git tags can run a new version.
Sorry kingbeowulf, but the old wxGTK3 is 2-3 years old behind and no 3.0.3 plan at this moment
perhaps you can mail me your script and I'll what i can do to fix the issue for you
It's more of an upstream source problem. The Linux recommended version Boinc-7.2.42 dates to 28-Feb-2014. Neither the precompiled binary nor compiling from source works for any of the 7.2.x and 7.4.x tags on 14.2. The newest I've gotten to build so far on 14.2 is Boinc-7.6.33 from git (5-Jun-2016); you need at least 7.6.xx for 14.2. On 14.1, Boinc-7.2.{44,47} compiles and runs fine without jumping through any software hoops.

I'm working on enabling webview, auto-detect webkit, and support static build on wxGTK3.
That should ease users wanting to build boinc.
I'm sorry that i don't want to enable webkit by default since it's very time consuming to build webkitgtk.
Anyway i checked the deps and it was said that you don't need wxGTK3 if you are building for client app.

That's fine. Nuts to build webkit/webview if you don't need it (who codes this stuff?). [wxGTK | wxPython] + wxGTK3 is only needed for the boincmgr app. Your wxGTK3 works to build Boinc. I'll clean up the Boinc slackbuild for a submission next week once your wxGTK goes live on SBo.
