"Is Slackware dead 2020" thread closed

Posted 08-07-2020 at 11:11 PM by kingbeowulf

The discussion collapsed into nonsense before I could post my non-useful, dead Slackware, Year Linux Desktop, desktop. I had lost track of the discussion since I have had to continue to work with a 20% pay cut in the viral apocalypse that is the USA.

So here is a desktop showing neofetch etc for gandalf (main box, Slackware64-current multilib), aragron (new miniITX build, Slackware64-current), arwen (Lenovo Thinkpad T510 Slackware64-current), beorn (hobby server for gopher, httpd,...

Slackware64-Current (15.0): Ryzen 7 mini-ITX amdgpu vs. Nvidia Benchmarks

Posted 02-29-2020 at 05:01 PM by kingbeowulf

System Configuration

GIGABYTE X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI Mini-ITX
AMD RYZEN...

Posted 09-05-2018 at 01:39 PM by kingbeowulf

Qemu still befuddles me at times. It doesn't help when various command line options are deprecated and changes. For qemu-3.xx, there have been some changes to setting up USB passthrough. This all all came to a head when I needed to restore an iphone. The powermac G5 is dismantled at the moment, so I thought, why not use the Windows 10 VM? After letting Win10 grind along updating itself (I don't fire it up very often), I installed itunes (win10 has an "app store"? ugh.), the fun began....

ANNOUNCE: Gridcoin-Research now available on Slackbuilds.org

Posted 08-26-2018 at 07:57 PM by kingbeowulf

Gridcoin-Research is now in the SBo pending queue. Gridcoin (GRC) is a cryptocurrency based on bitcoin, but instead of burning up the electrical grid, the GRC awards are based on participation in BOINC scientific computing projects.
