rt2500 drivers for WMP54g

Hello, I am trying to get wireless networking setup and working in Slackware. I am using a Linksys WMP54G wireless card that uses the Ralink 2500 chipset. I had it working using ndiswrapper with the stock 2.4.x kernel but now I have compiled a new 2.6.x kernel it caused some problems which stopped ndiswrapper from working (correctly anyways) . I tried to see if the native drivers (the OSS rt2x00 project drivers) would solve my problems but it didnt fully work. The module can be loaded, "iwconfig" shows 'ra0' (rt2x00's wlan0), and an "iwconfig ra0 scan" shows my AP. Im having trouble getting the dhcp daemon started for ra0 though and would appreciate any help.

Do you get any errors from the dhcpcd command or does it simply time out? Post a little snippet of what you're doing and I'll see what I can do. I have one machine that runs the same card with Slack 10.1 and 2.6.11.5 if I recall correctly the kernel version.

I use that chipset with the native drivers. I find that when I change from eth0 to ra0 on subsequent boots, I often have to 'jiggle' Gnome Networking and/or my firewall to get things moving.

I think I got it working (for now anyways). I installed the kernel packages from the second Slack cd and installed serial monkey's rt2500 driver. It just takes a little playing with iwconfig and GNOMEs network manager. Ill have to try it longer though, see if it actually is working correctly. How would I get it to configure at boot once I have it working? I think I'd need to edit rc.local
