Non PIC libiberty.a compile problem

Latrace package from SBO repository not compile because of Non PIC libiberty.a .

Code:
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-slackware-linux/5.3.0/../../../../x86_64-slackware-linux/bin/ld: /usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-slackware-linux/5.3.0/../../../../lib64/libiberty.a(cplus-dem.o): relocation R_X86_64_32S against `_sch_istable' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-slackware-linux/5.3.0/../../../../lib64/libiberty.a: error adding symbols: Bad value
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
On 14.1 compilation goes well because libiberty.a cames from binutils, but on current it is from gcc and is compiled without PIC .

For that one package I do not recompile all gcc and binutils stuff but it may be better to take a closer.
Perhaps some other packages will suffer because of this.

Yeah, we know about that. Willy and me discussed the situation some weeks ago, and our opinion was that it wasn't worth hassling Pat to redo libiberty just for latrace (the only package in >5000 that would need it), considering that latrace is abandoned (no updates since 2011, git repo disappeared, mailing list dead for years).

and it has been scheduled to be removed in the next 14.2 repository
