Why cant I save a pic after changing it in gimp, permissions problem?

I am trying to edit some pics in the gimp and every time I try to save the pic I get a message saying I dont have permssion to save the file or write to that directory. WTF is this crap, this is my user and, my computer. How do I make it so I can write to my own directories? Thank you.

Does the folder have write permissions? You could check the folder properties, maybe it's set to read-only.
