I fear we may have "fallen over" your answer, I apologize, I assumed you had already edited xorg appropriately from your first post and that the driver was loaded, etc, etc.
The problem here could be several things. One, xorg.conf file, Two, the problem I referenced in post #6, in which you said you followed. ;-) Couldn't have been good since the driver wasn't loading.
That said, lets go back to square one. Take a look back through all of the questions and answers from the previous posts and try to consolidate that information into your next post so we can evaluate the current situation. Now that the module section is correct this is a whole new ball game.
Again, sorry for my earlier assumption, this should have been solved by now.
