Hey all, I have 3 mice: microsoft intellimouse explorer 3.0, microsoft wireless intellimouse 3.0 w/ tilt-wheel, and microsoft intellimouse.
Now, I have finally gotten all three mice to work, at the same time too, but the problem is this:
I have gotten the scroll wheel working before with Buttons "5" and ZAxisMapping "4 5"
But when I try and add in the side buttons (which worked before my reinstall, mind you) with Buttons "7" and ZAxisMapping "6 7", the scroll wheel does the back and forward, which I want my side buyttons to do, and my side buttons are forward=middle, backwards=right-click
Forgot to add that the scroll wheel works under Buttons "7" and ZAxisMapping "4 5", but the side buttons still don't function how they are supposed to, they are currently forward=middle, backwards=right-click
Follow the instructions there for a 7 button (X counts the scroll wheel going both up and down as separate buttons) mouse (you can safely ignore the protocol section, just the ZAxisMapping needs changing and the creation of /etc/X11/.Xmodmap as described are needed)
I created the file /etc/X11/xinit/.Xmodmap and even copied it to /etc/X11/.Xmodmap
only line in it was: pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5
So i tried fooling aroudn with it, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7. then I even messed with xorg.conf again, and did zaxis mapping at 4 5 and then back to 6 7, all for not...
