Mounting an audio CD that has files other than the tracks.

Hello,

How can I mount an audio CD that has some files other than the audio files? The CD plays just fine using XMMS and I can get the list of tracks using KAudioCreator. Attempt to mount the CD fails:
Code:
root@darkstar:/home/basel# mount /dev/hdc -t auto /mnt/cdrom/
mount: block device /dev/hdc is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: /dev/hdc: can't read superbloc
Running mount results in a long list of messages that are appended to the kernel buffer. Here is the output from dmesg | tail:
Code:
root@darkstar:/home/basel# dmesg | tail
end_request: I/O error, dev hdc, sector 8
hdc: command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdc: command error: error=0x54 { AbortedCommand LastFailedSense=0x05 }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
end_request: I/O error, dev hdc, sector 16
hdc: command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdc: command error: error=0x54 { AbortedCommand LastFailedSense=0x05 }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
end_request: I/O error, dev hdc, sector 0
FAT: unable to read boot sector

Try

Code:
mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom
instead (i.e. explicitly specify the fs-type).

Thanks Nobber. It worked
Do you know why mount was not able to identify the type of the fs?

The only answer I have is the obvious one: it's just not clever enough to find the ISO9660 filesystem on a mixed-mode CD, and needs a little prompting. Perhaps we should track down the author of mount and encourage him to improve the AI code in his program.
