"Modem Busy"

Hi.

I've got a PCI modem on COM3 (Windows). Linux has detected it (It's displayed in Info Center) although whenever I 'Query Modem' in KPPP it says 'Modem busy'. How can I get it to work? Please keep in mind that I'm quite new to Linux, although an advanced Windows user.

Thanks,

MSA.

search on the web for this file "hsflinmodem-5.03.27lnxtbeta03042700.tar"
coz the file that u can download from the www.linuxant.com website limits the speed of the modem to 14.4kbps (or u'll have to buy the driver... if you can afford it that is the best thing to do...)

however if you cant search the web for hsflinmodem-5.03.27lnxtbeta03042700.tar
unpack the tarball... and read the "INSTALL" file...

buy the way it'll be handy to have the info from the output of the above... which you have put in your first post...
