I'll probably try that next Lestoil.
Right now I'm in the middle of compiling using JustanotherSteve .config file he sent me.
He has just about the exact same setup as me. We'll see.
Is SW10.2 TEST26S on the second install cd of slackware?
If I were to do a clean instll of test 2.6, how do I go about doing it?
Test26s is option during SW10.2 install(CD1). When installer asks where to get kernel from say cd and insertcd1. Install will include 2.4.3x modules, source and alsa driver. This will give module error messsages. When install is done, to get correct modules, kernel source and alsa driver, as root insert cd2 then mount /mnt/cdrom> cd /mnt/cdrom> cd /2.6.13 and run upgradepkg *.tgz. Move to root directory then umount /mnt/cdrom.Take out cd2. You will then have 2.6.13 kernel system. From there continue system configuration.
HALLELUJAH ! HALLELUJAH ! HALLELUJAH !
It works...Thanks to "JustanotherSteve".
Well, steve sent me his .config file (he has almost the exact same setup as I ) and used it while recompiling.
This time on my cmedia sound card I used modules where I could durring the recompile.
Only used Family tuilp and Early DECchip Tulip..." and "DECchip Tulip..
on my netwrok card and took out some other that did not pertain to mycard.
I was able to reinstall sh my NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7174-pkg1 and just rename "nv" to "nvidia" in xorg.con file.
Of note: You guys with a Riva TNT/2 16 Meg agp card, this driver version works with it.
Now I must learn how to get my cd/dvd rom to work and all other things to work in this Slackware Linux.
Like how to do update this thing with the proper dependcies. I'll do a lot of searchs in here fist...
I just want to thank everyone who helped me getting this far.
