krfb reports 1024x768 - how to change?

Slackware 14.0 64 bit
xfce

I use krfb so I can remote into the desktop, and this has been working fine. One day it came up in a 1024x768 windows, and it has been doing this since. My actual desktop resolution is 2048x1152. So the vnc viewer only shows me a portion of the desktop, the left upper 1048x768 portion of the desktop only. I can't scroll, and I can't access any other portion of the desktop. It doesn't matter which client I use, the result is the same. For some reason, krfb is reporting to the client that the desktop is 1024x768, when I know for a fact (having sat there and watched it) that the desktop is 2048x1152. If I change the desktop resolution to something else, the remote still comes up in a 1024x768 windows.

Is there a way to change the desktop size that krfb is reporting to the client?
