Post How To Change 1024X768 To 1440X900

I Downloaded A Game But Need's 1440X900 60HZ
I Can't Get My Setting To Change To That
Does That Mean My Screen Has To Be A 19 Inch Screen 1440X900 60HZ
I Have A 17 Inch Screen Can Only Get 1024X768 60HZ On It
Is There A Way To Change My Screen To A 1440X900 60HZ
Or Do I Have To Buy The 19 Inch 1440X900 60HZ Screen
Your's Truly Roy

It seems like you may have answered your own question:

If your monitor can only do 1024x768, that's all it can do, no matter what OS you run, or settings you tweak. And it might help if next time you gave some information about things...like what version/distro of Linux, what kind of hardware, and what game you're talking about.........

Yup, it's not possible. You can't set desktop resolution above it's hardware maximum.

One more thing to add - even though the bigger screen usually means higher resolution, it's not a rule. If you'll go pick some new screen, just check resolutions it supports.
