I was checking out the SLAX project, it's pretty spiffy. Especially the Kill Bill iteration.
Situation:
I am a webmaster for a fairly large company. I do not currently have a laptop (a fact I mean to remedy, ASAP). I am dependant on certain windows apps (Explorer and Photoshop). It's not a question of choice, I HAVE to use them.
I am almost always near a computer with an internet connection, even when out of the house. Because I use a VPN client, a collection of htm files, specific ftp settings, and email... it is impractical to use anybody else's machine... or is it?
Idea:
A live Slackware CD+RW that contains Wine, Open Office, IE 6.0, Photoshop 7.0, FTP, VPN Client, Email, and all my important files. All set up and ready to use. Also, I would be able to modify, add, or delete all of my main files on the disc.
Can this be done? Or MUST I use an external storage device for file manipulation (USB drive)? Any ideas about the best way to achieve these goals is VERY welcome. Thanks!
