slackware 14.2 broken Eric why even work on it. you never use nvidia. Eric I do not like you as a person I like your work.
may be the language you speak. More of a command then being real. stuff works or not O or 1.
I despise the company you work for and you support them but your work is wonderful.
I am sure you do a great job for them. your hobby slackware work is excellent.
I despise any company that supported the Nazie's. not you.
OK, this post deserves an answer.
Despite the fact that you are dyslectic, that is no excuse for insult.
Whether you like me as a person or not, I really do not care, although I have no idea what wrong I did to you. On the contrary, I recognize your dyslexia and treat you more carefully than I would with other people, because I understand that the words in your mind do not always translate that well into the written text.
You obviously have no idea where I work. You are an ignorant flapdrol. I have worked (past tense) for IBM. I no longer work for IBM. In fact I stopped working for IBM more than two years ago. Look it up. I wrote blog posts about it, it was news on the LQ forum too.
Time to get out from under that rock, son. And regardless, you rally think that you should despise a company for the wrongs they did 80 years ago? Everyone who worked there at the time is either dead or senile. You, pal, are insulting all the good people that work at IBM today.
You live in the US, right? In Illinois? How would you feel if I told you that your forefathers who fled Europe because they were not allowed to run their backward sects here, murdered over 50 million native Indians and stole their land? What if I judge you because the US is still imposing Kristallnacht on the native Indians until this day? Would that not mean that everyone in the US is complicit to brutal harassment, theft and genocide? If you judge, be prepared to be judged, buddy.
What you really sounded like in that post of you, is Donald Trump and his treacherous twisting of words. Now, I hope that that is not a bigger insult than you can bear.

Keep the great hobby up love your builds. Your a good guy. just do not like how you use language. You come off bitter.
As far as slack-15 not on my list now. Pat borked the last kernel for 14.2 had that chat with him about headers and glibc.
headers do not care but the glibc you build against does.

Sorry man - if the choice is between cleaning up 30+ kernel CVEs or waiting for nvidia, well, I gotta do the right thing. The problems started with 4.4.168. It's not like they didn't have any time.
Distribution: Slackware64-current with "True Multilib" and KDE4Town.

Must some people drag politics into everything??!!
The reality is, it doesn't matter if it is a socialist/democrat or a republican in the white house. The corporations and their lobbyist have perverted the system to the point the U.S. is just as corrupt as any third world banana republic. They buy and sell politicians like trading cards, via "donations," to do their bidding and the public be damned. Over the last thirty years I haven't seen anyone on either side of the aisle do anything that genuinely benefits and/or protects the "average" working person.
BTW, who was it who signed off on the repeal of Glass-Steagall so the grandsons and great grandsons of the people who produced 1929, could do it all over again in 2007/8?
Rant over.

No, he has to end the wars and put the American Empire on sound financial footing first! #MAGA.
NVIDIA breaks stuff but shouldn't the older drivers still work? In the recent past they arbitrarily added a dependency for NUMA=1 and then said it was an accident. If you have a problem with Linux NVIDIA drivers you go here: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/board/98/linux/

And if you use new drivers, it's not a problem. (418.30 here. Installed as easily as it normally does. The beta designation shouldn't scare anyone away--I've been on the beta series of drivers since the fall for dxvk, and haven't had a problem.)
The lack of a 32-bit driver is an issue, but Nvidia's been broadcasting that they were going to axe support for 32-bit only OS'es last February. That the 390 tree lasted as long as it did is sheer luck, with all the kernel changes in the past year.

well I guess I had to fix it for me. we can all blame nvidia.

Thank you for the reply. the 32 bit was and is supported to the latest stable. that was because a huge company Steam users want support. Steam wants support for the latest beta for linux lets blame nvidia. sorry do not buy nvidia? But hard to drop your customers. Pat had a choice. I disagree with it. unsecured kernel in extra would be an option.
OMG how many people like me built the system around 14.2 to find it obsolete by update-all. try the beta and use multi kernels for different stuff.
