Exclamation Japanese support slack 10.1 - kterm

For educational purpose I wish to install kterm (any other suggestion is fine) to gain japanese support for edict (Japanese dictionary), the problem is that I don't know how to do it, I've already downloaded the kterm-6.2.0.tar.gz and run "% xmkmf -a; make" as the README said... I get some errors about not define variables. I thought I had all the libs I needed, I still do, but the README said I might have some problems if:

"In X11R6 environment, if you have some luck (your system supports fd_set
type and FD_* macros), you can compile kterm without modification"

Since I'm running X.org in slack 10.1 it could be the problem, has anybody try to install this?, I don't know what fd_set and FD_* macros are, some help with that would be great.

Thx
