How To Control Sound via CLI?
Sound Card : AC'97 (Onboard)
kernel : 2.6.3

Try 'alsamixer' if you are using the ALSA drivers.

tried "alsamixer" - command not found.
How to determine which sound driver that i am using...
fyi currently i am using Xfce4 sound control

It depends on how you compiled your kernel. The 2.6 series contains the OSS and ALSA sound drivers. I haven't used OSS in a long time so I am not sure about them. Which did you use?

hey...rexima is working...thx..

i did check my soud driver and it is alsa...but how come i can't use alsamixer..

'aumix' should work... I have that same soundcard....
