Hello, everyone.
So, there is a weird story.
I want to run WeChat on Slackware-current.
I compiled Wine from SBo, and WeChat essentially runs, if run as LC_ALL=zh_CN.utf8 wine WeChat.exe
The problem, however, is that the Chinese glyphs are not displayed.
Looking at wine's bug-db, I found a well-known bug:
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13829
If you read the discussion, it essentially shows that Wine doesn't ship Chinese fonts itself (although the patch for it is already provided), instead relying on system-wide Chinese fonts.
And indeed, WenQuanYi ZenHei is a valid font for Wine. And Slackware does ship it.
However, for some reason this font doesn't get picked up.
The question is 'why?'. I'm not an expert in fonts configuration, but I suspect that the bug is hidden somewhere in /etc/fonts/
Maybe we need to do something about it?
