chinese font support

Hi all,

I just setup LFS and BLFS version 6. I have fluxbox and firefox in my X. I want to browse some chinese websites with firefox but I can not get correct display even after I set the encoding in firefox to Chinese gb2312. I believe I have ZH_CN and ZH_TW included in the locale when building glibc. I can see entries such as *gb2312.1980-0 by xlsfonts. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Lik

For me the source version of Firefox was buggy.

Have you tried the binary version?
Better yet, have you tried the Chinese version?

Which directions for the font installation did you follow?

These are ones I've found:

Sorry for the late reply

As far as hints all I see is Setting up Japanese input and output for terminals and applications
(You'll need to adjust the specific parts for Japanese and apply them to Chinese.)

My advise get and use a Chinese distro and from there read Chinese LFS site
