Thanks. I'm not disputing the accuracy of your story. I'm just reporting that for me on Slackware64-current and FF 52.0.1 Netflix doesn't play video. See screengrab.
Don't work for me either. I have read online, some are calling it vaporware.
Just FYI:
Sometime over the last day or two or three, Netflix "threw the switch" and their service will now work with the Linux version of Firefox without an agent changer or any other tricks, add-ons, plug-ins, etc.
Current I'm running it in another tab inside of Firefox-52.0.1. No fuss, no muss.
I can confirm Nitflix works with Firefox 52.0.1 without the useragent switcher.
