"native xmms player"?

Meaning an mp3-player which is not using X? Yes, mpg123.

Meaning can you use xmms from the command line? Yes you can, see 'xmms --help' for details.

dload new skins into your ~/.xmms/Skins directory and they'll show up in your skin browser.
