Hi. Sorry,I ususally do leave my posts intact. My problem was that I didn not have sound on a laptop that used an ess solo-1 audio chip. I thought I needed to add the essolo1.o.gz module from the /lib directory and I couldn't modprobe it. However,it turns out that I actually needed to configure alsa properly. To do this,I did
Code:
modprobe snd-es1938
I then did
and set the levels to what they needed to be. After that, I did
and then rebooted. I hope that helped, and I will be sure to leave my posts intact in the future.
