ATi's fglrx driver doesn't support the Mobility 7500.
Try searching the forum and looking at this thread from the Ubuntu forums for ideas on what you need to do.

I have a gigabyte radeon 9200 and the 10.2 distro, but I can't set it up. After runing the config, all I get is a blinking cursor and I can't use ctrl+alt+back to get out. I use kernel 2.6.13. The driver seems to install right(using it as described in the F.A.Q.).
I tryed to compile for 2.6.13(I have modified the line in Makefile like this kern=2.6.13, otherwise I would get errors, but I get all kinds of warnings about deprecated functions) and I also used the make for 2.4.x.
There is no module loading at startup that resambels the one from ati. All I get is agpgart modules that are loading fine.
Thanks!

If you ask a new question, please start it in a new thread, otherwise it's likely that it won't be seen.
What version of the driver are you using? Are you using the RPMs - if so, which one; or the installer script? What errors did you get before editing the Makefile (I've not heard of it being necessary to edit the Makefile to get the driver to build, so perhaps your original error may be more indicative of the problem).
Can you switch to another terminal using Ctrl+alt+<1 to 6>? What does /var/log/Xorg.0.log tell you?

after typing "./ati-driver...... .run" and going through the installation, AND after running fglrxconfig, you have to remember to copy the xorg.conf file to /etc/X11. Then, ctrl+alt backspace to re-start X, and the drivers should load right up.
During fglrxconfig, the new xorg.conf file is written in the directory you happen to be in when you ran fglrxconfig.
# cp /home/snurdley/downloads/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf
