Aother RADEON problem

Well it's like this (and like that and like this):
With the help of people from this forum (who gave me refferances to threads on the subject) i was able to install fglrx for xfree 4.3.0 on my slack 9 machine (an un-official package from a link on some thread here)
I installed it, and it worked fine (tested it on some screen savers).
Now I have installed Neverwinter Nights. Executed it, and it worked (yehy me). The only problem was that it was in the resolution of 800x600.

So, I boosted it to 1024x768, and the all screen scrambled up.
The same thing happend when I installed tux racer demo.

After long thinking, (and help from the forum) I figured out (at least i think so) that the problem is with the drivers (on *cough* windows *cough* the card works fine, and the installation didn't gave me any problems, except, when I come to think about it, it didn't recognize my via chipset on the agp module, so maybe that is the root of all my problems)

Any thoughts?

Hey Cyberia, well I'm happy you got everything worked, that's a good start for you. As for your gaming issues, what driver set did you d/l ? I'm running an 8500 with the beta x drivers and I've managed to run Unreal Tourny and some other games just fine, have you completed your X setup again after install of the drivers ??
Let me know.

Anna.

I downloaded the FireGL X1 or maybe it was Z!
anywho the file name was glx1_linux_X4.3.zip
and the RPM name that was compressed there was
fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-2.9.6.i586.rpm

and yes, i ran fglrxsetup after the driver installation
