RADEON problem

well, i have ati radeon 9000 pro
i used the unofficial drivers for XFree-4.3.0 (there weren't any official drivers for this version of XFree)
well, installed them and started X.
installed neverwinter nights everything was nice, only that the resolution was 800x600
no biggie, changed it to 1024x768
now all the screen got messed up....

well tried some other resultions, the ones lower than 1024x768 worked, and those higher, well, didnt.

tried another game - tuxracer demo, and the same thing happend.... (only that in tuxracer i couldn't chage the resolution cause it was messed up to begin with)

tried looking in the XFree log file, and couldn't find anything....

any suggestions?
