[Slacware 9] Alcatel Speedtouch Problem

Hello everyone,

I have recently installed Slackware 9. I have a USB ADSL modem "Alcatel Speedtouch" and I have tried to install it with no luck. I have followed the instructions on the driver's website at Sourceforge but still, I can not access any website. Lynx always reports "Unknown host" error. I haven't experienced any error messages during the installation/configuration of the driver.

Any idea what the problem might be?

Which of the six speedtouch related
sourceforge projects are you referring
to? Make life easier for those who are
trying to help, give us more input :}

And after having installed the drivers,
which other steps did you take to get
the network going?

Well, I thought there was only one Speedtouch driver website

Anyway, I have solved the problem by adding the appropriate ISP information in the /etc/resolv.conf :

search DOMAINNAME
nameserver PRIMARY
nameserver SECONDRY
