I'm using 6.9.1, which is the available version on SBo for Slackware 14.2. Is there a reason you are trying to build 7.x?

In short for 14.2 slackware yes

I have a couple versions of slackware installed

on my 14.2 install with FreeCAD and LibreCAD installed kmail and korganizer are both working fine.
my current installation kmail and korganizer is not working which has nothing to do with FreeCAD or LibraCAD.

With your current installation that kmail and korganizer is not working; is that Slackware 14.2 stable or Slackware Current?

Is kmail failing to launch and crashes or just won't launch at all?

What if anything does the terminal return when you execute 'kmail'? <should show an error or some other info.>

Maybe this will help:- (trying to help)

Dont want to be rude but think it would be best to start a new thread for that matter.

this is the thread I found in a search on kmail and korganizer.
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...il-4175574130/

kmail and korganizer dont crash but dont exactly run.
I get a Akonadi server self test.

I agree; a new thread would be a good idea.

Are your CAD programs installed and running now?

Don't forget to mark your thread Solved.
