Trouble unmounting and ejecting during diablo 2 install

I'm using winex to install diablo 2 but when it tells me to insert the play disc I cannot unmount the install disc to insert the play disc and continue the install as redhat considers it still in use. Does anyone know of a way to force the unmount or some other way to continue the install? thanks.

One possible problem might be automount and you disagreeing on what is supposed to be mounted. If you are using automount then try disabling automount by changing the line for your CD in /etc/fstab. Then reboot.

I checked the etc/fstab and nothing is set to automount. I tried creating virtual drives by ripping the cd's to iso but when i trieddd if=/dev/cdrom of=/home/shoggoth/iso i got an error that read dd: reading `/dev/cdrom': Input/output error
0+0 records in
0+0 records out

so then I tried cat /dev/cdrom /home/shoggoth/iso and got cat: /dev/cdrom: Input/output error. And I have no idea what I'm doing wrong if someone could help I'd appreciate it greatly.

did you go into the directory where you mounted the cdrom to install diablo 2? because you cant do it like that. here is an example:

mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
wine /mnt/cdrom/install.exe

then you'll be able to unmount the cdrom during the installation
