Rhel 4.0 kernel version is : 2.6.9-5.

What shall i do next to make this sata disk get detected & work at this notebook ?

EDIT: I did find few similar threads, but i am a bit confused in two things,
first; i got to burn a seperate cd as the drivers for rhel-4 ich7. How, i mean after the extraction of the driver tar file over to my other box local harddisk-some-folder, am i suppose to copy paste that folder to CD ROM (burn)?
Second : what to do next after that ?

With best regards,
Amit.

I've had the image that you get the drivers, unpackage them if adviced so and burn as a normal data cd. Then you start the RHEL installation, and at some point it (should at least) asks if you want to load additional drivers; here choose yes, have the cd in the drive and pick it up. I have to admit I have not done this myself, but that's how I think it goes..

Didn't you get any README or other instructive file (like INSTALL) with the driver package?

UPDATE :

With ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/SATA/ahci-1.00...iarch-2.tar.gz, i am able to detect my ATA FUJITSU MHV2080B harddisk but then i can not create any partitions more than 1. So let it be any partition like / or /boot or anyone else... But i cannot create any further partion after that, as it flashes a message of "Could not allocate partitions: Partioning failed: Could not allocate partitions."

What could possibily be the problem here ?
