X11 development SDK source files

Hi, I have done some search on this topic before, but everywhere I see people giving commands for certain distributions to get the "development" packages, which is the development kit for X server.

I would like to do some X programming, and use Ubuntu 10.10, so no chance of apt-get or any such thing. I need the source code so I can build the kit myself.

Here is the Xorg homepage. You can find the links to the source code under the "Getting X" heading. You should also click the link under the "Development" heading before you start.
