I wanna make sound with a program.
Is there a function(or a library) in linux??( like sound() or delay() in windows)

You can try the Simple DirectMedia Layer library. I believe it handles video, sound, and other aspects of the machine.

I've never used it for sound and I've only messed with it briefly for video. So I can't say how easy/complex using this library might be.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Do you need a simple sound effect to play or do you need something beyond that, like something an mp3 would do?

Do you know in borlandc the library dos.h??
I want something like that.
I not capable to write a program to play mp3 or avi or something else.
