FC2: Sound Card (SiS SI7012) Detect But Donot Play Sound

I have Installed FC2. After the installation (or at the end of installation, whatever to prefer). when the sound card was detected before running the system for the first time. I hear to the sound by clicking the Sound Test Button.
But as i entered to the GNOME the Sound Card is being Detected (Shows when you use the program "SoundCard Detection" from "System Setting") but donot play any sound not even test sound.
Details are as under

Sound Driver: 3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v1.0.6a emulation code)
Kernel: Linux 2.6.5-1.358 #1
Config options: 0

Installed drivers:
Type 10; ALSA emulation

Card config:
SiS SI7012 at 0xe000. irq10

Audio devices:
0: SiS SI7012 (DUPLEX)

Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Midi devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

Timers:
7: system timer

Mixers:
0: C-Media Electronics CMI9739

USING THE /sbin/lspci gives the following results
00:02.7 Multimedia audio controller: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] Sound Controller (rev a0)

and USING THE cat /etc/modprobe.conf
alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0
install snd-intel8x0 /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install snd-intel8x0 && /usr/sbin/alsactl restore >/dev/null 2>&1 || :
remove snd-intel8x0 { /usr/sbin/alsactl store >/dev/null 2>&1 || : ; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove snd-intel8x0
alias usb-controller ehci-hcd
alias usb-controller1 ohci-hcd

One Strange thing that i encounter was that i was not able to find the modules.conf file in the etc directory (know because it was mentioned in the ALSA install doc which is in the alsa driver package). is it important

I have check the volume levels using alsamixer

Please help me if you know how to fix this problem
thanks
