compile php-gtk on slackware

I'm trying to compile php-gtk on slackware but end up getting this

Code:
checking for libglade support... yes
checking for libglade-config... no
checking for libglade... no
configure: error: Unable to locate libglade
I'm running linuce's gnome 2.8.2+ packages aside from the default 10.1 setup. I uninstalled libglade-linuce... and compiled the latest libglade from source with --prefix=/usr but I still get the above.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

What about running ./configure --disable-libglade instead?
