A good book (one of the best) is
Accelerated C++ Programming, although it does have a price tag on it.
The tut on
CProgramming.com is quite good, and there's another good one on
C Plus Plus. There are brilliant tutorials all over the place - seek and you shall find. As for GCC-related ones, the compiler doesn't make much of a difference most of the time, especially when you're starting out - most, if not all of the apps are a simple 'gcc -o app app.c'
