I am uncertain if it is called to close the session in Mandrake - Just make sure you don't choose the option that powers down your computer - and that you don't chose the option that restarts the computer!
However it ought to be one of three possibilities....
I accidently rebooted, my brain is on fire I need a break, will be back on after a few hours.
Thanks,

If you can start your desktop in root mode you should be able to take care of everything by yourself by setting the runlevel to 3 (in initab), doing the edits suggested in the thread to the X86Config file - reboot the machine and follow the installation instructions in the following document...
Don't start a new thread on the issue - stick with this thread and we'll walk you through it (I hope) - that is if you can't solve it by yourself by piecing the information in this thread together by yourself after you've gotten some rest. In any case let us know...
Maybe I should elaborate: The NVIDIA install informs me that I need to have the kernel-source and headers present in order to compile the driver. But I can't find them anywhere, in fact I am unsure of what the filenames are. I tried editing the XF86Config-4 file and now can not issue 'startx'. I am going to blow it all away and reinstall, then hit the sack. Whooh. I really hate Microsoft, so I intend to hang in there but I must admit I am very frustrated right now.

TIA,

Frangos - Please post your issue in a separate thread - This thread is intended for helping dolphans1 getting through a regular install.... unless you and dolphans1 are the same - In that case why use different nicknames????
BTW - It's not because I don't want to help - It's just I cant start answering questions to different person in the middle of the thread as the original poster might get confused as it seems that I am dealing with someone making his very first install - which can be a hairy experience....
I never could figure it out, I don't know what else to do.
