Well, there are three facts here that confuse me...
1. I checked the mnt folders and in terminal...no files at all
2. When I put the audio CD in either drive (i have two), KsCD pops open and starts playing it, but there's no sound...I've checked the master sound and the KsCD sound, both are fine and operational...Tried two cds too
3. When I put in a data cd (my Mandriva install disc), it mounts the CD as "CD Recordable" on the desktop
Hi,
First, are you in KDE or Gnome ?
In KDE, there are settings to make icons appear on the desktop, relating to the discs you mount.
Just have a look in Configure your desktop.
Kscd will only play your cd if you have a physical connection between your sound card and your CD-Drive.
I never used it in Mandrake. You should install and use Kaffeine. It will play with digital extraction, like
XMMS.
Other thing ; Is ALSA configured on your box ? It is the program that will let you pick and configure your
sound card. Do , as root :' alsaconf' , plus 'alsactl store' to save your settings.
You don't need to use /mount... in Mandrake because there is the supermount option enabled
