Question mandriva 2006 kernel sources path

Hi everybody.
First of all let's say I'm new to linux.

I was trying to setup my PCI modem following the instructions at patrick.spacesurfer.com
I have just installed Mandriva 2006.
At point 4 (in the tutorial) it says my kernel sources should be located in:
/usr/src/linux
, otherwise I should make a link to the sources in that path.
The problem is that in my "/usr/src" there's no "linux" folder.
Anyway I looked around, but I couldn't find those files on my PC.

On the internet (I admit I didn't search a lot) they always said that that was the right path. Maybe I didn't install the sources at all...

Sorry for my ignorance (and for my bad English) but I need your help.

Thank you all for your time.

That "folder" is usually linked (a shortcut)to the linux 2.6.X.X folder

And is setup when you install the kernel-source rpm automatically.

Make sure the versions match for mandrake.

The rpm shoud be on one of the cd's.

Otherwise you can just grab the folder and drag it someplace and select link or make new link.

You should be able to change the name and put it where you were told.

Just like in windows.

I think you'll need to change the permissions to allow writing to it.

All this should be done as root.

see how you go.

Thank you, GlennsPref.
I've installed the kernel-source package without problems.
Now everything seems to be in his place.
If I'll have other questions I'll post them.

Thank you again.
