ftp server


is there an ftp server for mandrake that allows you to have ratio's like bullet proof for windows?

Sure there is. Proftpd. It manages user quotas and chroot jails and everything. Check it out, it's an excellent ftp server for Linux, and the most secure (apart from the cleartext authentication, that's true for all ftp servers). It can even create multiple virtual servers. It can run standalone or as a part of xinetd.
Easiest is to install proftpd and then use the proftpd configuration module of webmin (as opposed to editing the /etc/proftpd.conf in vi).

newb

kind of a newb here but i didnt see any info on there site for ratio's?
and i have the FTPserver up and running but there is no ratio options threw webmin?

I've never done anything on windows other than the usual crap, but I read the bulletproof ftp server website, and if by "ratio" they mean quotas, then simply installing the "quota" package on linux and adding the relevant per-directory & per-file options. Their website has info on that . You can use webmin, but it might be quicker to just edit the relevant config file (it's /home/foo/.ftpaccess, one file for every user foo)
