how can I restrict ftp users listing files from a pure-ftp server

simply speaking, I only allow ftp user download files from using download manager provided that they know the path of the files.

If they are using ftp client to login ftp server, they just get a empty directory.

Can pure-ftp do that ?

I.E. restrict the use of LIST command

If your ftp deamon runs as "ftp-data" then chown -R the ftp directory as root or anyother user (not ftp-data (secu reasons)) and chmod the dirrectory o-x (Others minus eXecute) and ls, dir what ever will get a Permission denied. but if the directoy has Read permissions he will be able to get the files.

Works in Proftpd and wu-ftpd so imho in your ftpd too.
