Question ethernet slow transfer-rate pc2pc about 400kbps

Hi! I connected my pc-linux-mandarake eth1 with my pc-windoz-xp eth via ssh....the transfer rate is very slow...about 400 kpbs.....Why? the ethernets are 10/100 and the cable is a very good one.....may be ssh the porblem?

The windows XP kernel can only handle 483kbs transfers in ssh/sftp. This is NOT a linux bug but a windoze kernel bug.
