Hi! I connected my pc-linux-mandarake eth1 with my pc-windoz-xp eth via ssh....the transfer rate is very slow...about 400 kpbs.....Why? the ethernets are 10/100 and the cable is a very good one.....may be ssh the porblem?

SSH is slow because of overview due to encryption. If it's your local home network there probably isn't much need to SSH other than paranoia. Try using normal FTP for file transfers. I've been able to sustain over 9-10MB/s over a 100mbit network with normal FTP but SFTP/SCP is only around 300-500KB/s.
